DIRECTIONS
Indiana Medical History Museum | 3270 Kirkbride Way| Indianapolis, IN 46222 | (317)635-7329
The museum is located between W. Washington Street and W. Michigan Street, three miles west of downtown. From W. Washington Street turn north (right) on Tibbs Avenue then turn right onto Kirkbride Way (2nd street on the right). Proceed west to the 1st stop sign and turn left onto the Museum grounds.
When approaching from downtown on Michigan Street, turn south (left) onto Tibbs Avenue, then left onto Kirkbride Way (2nd street on the left). Proceed west to the 1st stop sign and turn left onto the Museum grounds.
FROM THE SOUTH SIDE (I-65)
Take I-65 N to I-70 West. Take West St. exit. Turn Left on Washington Street. From W. Washington Street turn north (left) onto Tibbs Avenue then turn right onto Kirkbride Way (2nd street on the right). Proceed west to the 1st stop sign and turn left onto the Museum grounds.
*You can also travel north on Bluff Rd. until it turns into West St. Take a left on Washington St. and follow the above directions
FROM THE WEST SIDE OFF OF I-465 (US-36)
Take E US-36 and continue on Rockville Rd. Bear Left on W. Washington St. and turn left onto Tibbs Ave. turn right onto Kirkbride Way (2nd street on the right). Proceed west to the 1st stop sign and turn left onto the Museum grounds.
FROM THE EAST SIDE (I-70)
Take I-70 West to the I-65 North exit towards Chicago, exit #83B. Take the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. St./West St. exit, exit #114. Continue on West St. Turn Right on Michigan St. Follow Michigan St. through IUPUI’s campus and across the river. Turn Left on Warman Ave. (Immediately after the railroad track. There is a Chase Bank before the railroad track). Turn Right on Kirkbride Way after the 4-way stop. Follow Kirkbride west. The museum is on the left after the first jog in Kirkbride Way). Tip: If you miss the Warman Street turn, continue on Michigan Street to the stoplight and turn left onto Tibbs. Turn left onto Kirkbride Way (2nd street on the left). Proceed west to the 1st stop sign and turn left onto the Museum grounds.
FROM THE NORTH SIDE (US-31)
Take US-31 South. Stay on US-31 as it becomes Meridian St. Turn right on Michigan St. Follow Michigan St. through IUPUI’s campus and across the river. Turn Left on Warman Ave. (Immediately after the railroad track. There is a Chase Bank before the railroad track). Turn Right on Kirkbride Way after the 4-way stop. Follow Kirkbride Way west. The museum is on the left after the first jog in Kirkbride Way).
PARKING
The entrance to the museum is off of Kirkbride Way. There is no charge for parking. There is a handicap parking space in front of the building and a accessible ramp available.
