How do you get to the IMHM?
3045 West Vermont Street, three miles west of downtown Indianapolis. Accessible from I-65, I-70, and I-465. The
museum is located between W. Washington Street and W. Michigan Street. From W. Washington Street turn north on
Warman Avenue to W. Vermont Street. Proceed west to the museum entrance.

From the Southside (I-65)

Take I-65 N to I-70 West. Take West St. exit. Turn Left on Washington St. then turn Right on Warman Ave. Turn Left on Vermont St. (this is a 4-way stop). The museum’s entrance will be on your left.

*You can also travel north on Bluff Rd. until it turns into West St. Take a left on Washington St. and follow the above directions.

From the Westside (US-36)

Take E US-36 and continue on Rockville Rd. Bear Left on W. Washington St. and turn Left on Warman Ave. Turn Left on W. Vermont St. (this is a 4-way stop) The museum’s entrance will be on your left.

From the Eastside (I-70)

Take I-70 West to the I-65 North exit towards Chicago, exit #83B. Take the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. St./West St. exit, exit #114. Continue on West St. Turn Right on Michigan St. Follow Michigan St. through IUPUI’s campus and across the river. Turn Left on Warman Ave. (You will have passed a Chase Bank). Turn Right on W. Vermont St. The museum’s entrance will be on the left

From the Northside (US-31)

Take US-31 South. Stay on US-31 as it becomes Meridian St. Turn right on Michigan St. Follow Michigan St. through IUPUI’s campus and across the river. Turn Left on Warman Ave. (You will have passed a Chase Bank). Turn Right on W. Vermont St. The museum’s entrance will be on the left.
